New Innovation in Waterproof Interconnectivity from Molex!

For those of us in the cable assembly business finding waterproof connector systems can sometimes be a challenge as the options can sometimes be limited especially when limited space is available.

Luckily Molex have come up with a innovative system the Mizu-P25™ Miniature Wire-to-Wire Connectors the Smallest to Provide IP67 Rating.

According to Molex “The Mizu-P25™ Wire-to-Wire Connector System is the smallest sealed system to qualify to the IP67 standard, ensuring the connectors deliver the highest levels of dustproof and waterproof protection. The 2.50mm (.098”) pitch connectors, which can maintain their integrity when submersed in up to one meter of water”.Molex Mizu-P25

“On-board electronics in the marine industry are rapidly becoming more sophisticated and plentiful as boat builders strive to differentiate their product. In addition to navigation and communication tools, more and more boats now include value-added offerings such as security and personal entertainment systems,” said Nagisa Kojima, product manager, Molex.

 

“The Mizu-P25 is ideal for these high-performance marine applications, allowing system designers to pack more complicated electronics into smaller spaces while employing an innovative design that makes the connectors uniquely suited to rugged marine environments.”

Mizu-P25 connectors deliver some of the smallest mated diameters of any similar system, helping boat builders implement wire-to-wire solutions in tight spaces. The product family includes a low-voltage Molex Waterproofsystem, which is rated up to 125 volts and a high-voltage system, which is rated up to 250 volts. Both offer integral sealing for waterproof protection and a cap lock for low terminal insertion force and high sealing performance, critical features in marine applications.

 

Positive locks enable secure mating retention while the raised body design provides polarization to prevent mismating and the color-coded housings help simplify assembly. The connectors can also withstand high vibration environments due to an innovative spring-beam terminal design, which provides high pressure and small deflection.
