More ROHS 2 exemptions will expire this year!

For those in the manufacturing business it is vital that you comply with all the ROHS 1 & 2 Requirements however many people still assume that if they work in assumed protected industries such as medical or defence then they don’t have to worry about the implications of ROHS compliance, well not any more.

Since most manufacturers have moved components over to ROHS compliant materials and soldering technology is so advanced there is really no reason to cling to the old days before ROHS.

With this in mind the following exceptions will expire soon:

2(b)(2) – Expired on 13/4/2016
2(b)(1), 5(a) , 7(b), 17, 25, 30, 31,33, and 38 will all expire on 21st July 2016 – just two months away.

If you have or use any parts claiming these exemptions you will need to review their current status with the manufacturer or replace them.

The other 46 exemptions due to expire on 21/7/2016 including 7(c)-I and 7(c)-II and are all waiting on the results of the extension requests.

Need help or advice?  Don’t worry – we can guide you through to make sure any parts we supply are fully compliant and will ensure your compliance is total.
