The revolution has begun! That’s right, the future is here and you heard it here first! In the beginning there was wireless data communication, and then there was connector-less charging ; now TE Connectivity has produced Contactless Technology.
This new technology allows for the transition of Power & Data between contactless points that can operate through water, oil and non-metallic barriers. This really is something special.
What we are witnessing is a gateway to the future, and although this technology is in the very early stages it is as revolutionary as infrared or microwave. In terms of being able to power devices without mains leads, or the need for cables for data processing, this is the beginning.
I don’t think that for one minute this spells the end for traditional cable assembly – there will always be a need for this. It does, however, give us a glimpse into the future and the potential possibilities of working without wires.
